After successfully defending her PhD thesis last month, Sanne Schinkel – together with Julia van Weert, Barbara Schouten and Maria van den Muijsenbergh from Pharos – was awarded a grant from KWF for a 2-year postdoc project (halftime).The project will start right after her maternity leave, in May 2016. It is aimed at developing a module within an existing e-health application for non-Western patients. The module is specifically targeted at older Moroccan and Turkish cancer patients and is aimed at (1) educating patients to become more knowledgeable about cancer and treatment options and (2) improving the communication with their GPs and oncology nurses.
The program Persuasive Communication addresses those communication processes that are intended to achieve specific persuasive goals, as is the case in, for instance, marketing communication, health education, and public information campaigns.
