Abstract: Dutch smokers think less about the health damage of smoking than smokers from other countries. Moreover, they are less knowledgeable about the damage of smoking. This is shown by results from the International Tobacco Control Policy Evaluation (ITC) Project. Health campaigns on the health damage of smoking are urgently called for in the Netherlands.
