Research: Emotions are important determinants of behavior. I am interested in how emotions can be used in persuasive messages to motivate people’s actions in a moral, health, or consumer context. I am especially interested in the persuasive effects of discrete emotional appeals and how narratives can help in persuading people.
Teaching: Health Communication, Marketing Communication, Persuasive Communication, Bachelor and Master Theses.
The program Persuasive Communication addresses those communication processes that are intended to achieve specific persuasive goals, as is the case in, for instance, marketing communication, health education, and public information campaigns.
