The program Persuasive Communication addresses those communication processes that are intended to achieve specific persuasive goals, as is the case in, for instance, marketing communication, health education, and public information campaigns. Interests: Health communication targeted at adolescents, interpersonal communication and online communication.
Research: My PhD project focuses on how online interpersonal communication (e.g. online chatting) influences adolescents’ beliefs towards certain risk behaviors such as: consuming alcohol and smoking cannabis. Furthermore, we explore how online interpersonal communication can be used to expand and strengthen existing health interventions aimed at adolescents.
Teaching: medialandschap, Inleiding Communicatiewetenschap (ICW), kwalitatief onderzoek, onderzoekspractica survey en inhoudsanalyse en persuasieve communicatie.
