Research Interest: Intercultural communication in the context of health.
Research: My research focuses on intercultural health communication, in particular on cultural differences in patients’ information and participation preferences and communicative behavior, Interpreter-mediated communication processes, patient-provider interaction, and intervention evaluations. Furthermore, I am also interested in research on using new media technologies in health communication, such as Entertainment-Education and e-health. Teaching:, Health Communication; Entertainment-Education & E-Health, supervision of PhD and Master theses.
The program Persuasive Communication addresses those communication processes that are intended to achieve specific persuasive goals, as is the case in, for instance, marketing communication, health education, and public information campaigns.
