Research: My research focuses on the new and unique characteristics of so-called new media, and the role of these characteristics in the persuasion process of (marketing) communications in such new media. In recent research projects I examined the persuasiveness of social media marketing, and more in particular the effectiveness of advertising campaigns in Social Network Sites. Other studies focused on both the levels and the effects of interactivity in brand websites, political websites, and online games.
